The 2017 Guangzhou International Lighting Festival - Legend of the Silk Road will be grandly opened on the evening of October 27th.

This year's Lighting Festival is hosted by the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government and undertaken by Guangzhou Ruifeng Audio Technology Co., Ltd. This year's Lighting Festival will set up Huacheng Square, five bridges in front of the Pearl River and 14 corridors in the Pearl River New City. Among them, the exhibition period of Huacheng Square lighting works is from October 27, 2017 to November 19, 2017; the exhibition period of light paintings of five bridges in the Pearl River is from October 27, 2017 to May 4, 2018; the exhibition period of 14 corridors in Zhujiang New Town is 2017 September 15, 2018 - May 4, 2018.

The theme of this year's International Lighting Festival is "City Interconnection". It consists of five sections: "City Light", "Ocean Light", "Economic Light", "Technology Light" and "Future Light". Guangzhou is described with a timeline. As the birthplace of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, the cultural heritage and the development blueprint of future emerging cities.

Tonight, this International Lighting Festival will kick off with a simple lighting ceremony. The Canton Tower light show "Light of the Silk Road" will shuttle back and forth between the high-rise buildings with Canton Tower as the central axis through laser beams. Xinsha and South Square Lighting Tower, looking for the connection between the buildings, constructing the dialogue between the buildings, forming a splendid and spectacular urban space scene.

It is worth mentioning that in the next 5 years, the Canton Tower Lighting Show will become the iconic work of the Guangzhou International Lighting Festival, and at the same time, it is also the largest lighting work in the country.

At the same time, nearly 30 groups of outstanding works at home and abroad and colleges and universities will bring an audio-visual feast to the general public. These works are divided into five creative directions according to the different styles of the works, namely "Light of the Silk Road" and "City Clouds", "City Breeze", "City Silk Tide", "City New Language" and "City Inspiration". The theme features such as the close connection between people and cities, artistic aesthetics, history, culture and humanistic spirit, fashion trends, and technological charm.
